Enterprise Console

The Enterprise Console presents a client based graphical user interface for real-time video and
device management and control over the Internet (or corporate LAN) from an unlimited number of
WebEngine Servers located within geographically dispersed buildings.  Click on a camera or frame
window to zoom in and out, or use the Magnifier to derive full pixel quality.  Right click on a camera to
retrieve archived video during any time or date range. The Enterprise Console allows you to view as
many devices and or camera video streams at once if needed.

The Enterprise Console is specifically designed to safely move security data through corporate
firewalls permitting the monitoring of multiple remote facilities.  Remote Video WebEngines and or
Domain WebEngines, in response to alarm events, will automatically connect with an Enterprise
Console.  Similar to a Central Station, a large number of remote sites will transmit and store alarm
event transactions with packets of Video for verification and audit capabilities to one or more
Enterprise Consoles.

The Enterprise Console is an application that can be configured to run a combination of application
plug-ins, which are ActiveX components designed for a specific function. At a minimum, Plug-in
functions include WebEngine Server connections and User authentication. Beyond these, examples
include Rule Editors, Graphical Layouts, Domain Gateways (Patrol, Andover…), Console functions,
and more. The motivation behind Console is that User authentication and Server connection will be
common to all applications and the Console provides these in a common framework. User
authentication can be complex, with multiple levels of user capability and be subject to OEM
customization itself -- possible by simply replacing the 'Authenticate' Plug-in. For Server connection,
the Console permits concurrent connections to multiple clients. Console plug-in applications are
easy to create using Microsoft Visual C++ for ActiveX controls. Once installed on a user's computer,
they can be combined with other plug-ins and run under the Console. Plug-in applications
communicate with each other using a simple API supported by the Console environment.
Console features

- support of up to 32 concurrent remote connections

Each connection represents a video server able to deliver up to 16 cameras
each, providing up to 512 live camera images from up to 21 remote
Internet/LAN servers.

- multiple Consoles interoperate as a seamless system

Multiple Consoles can be arranged in a client/server fashion to interoperate
seamlessly, providing scalable solutions to practically unlimited size.

- automatic sizing and positioning of Console plug-ins

Using the View menu, users can selectively hide/show individual Console
components (plug-ins) and have all visible components automatically resize
themselves to optimally occupy the available screen space. This feature can
be disabled in the Video Setup  application.

- improved file transfer support for event retrieval

Improved transfer status is provided by a progress bar indicating the progress
of the file transfer.

- posting/fetching of incidents to/from central repositories

Installations where many users, each with separate Consoles, want to
collaborate on the collection and analysis of Incidents can now do so by
posting their Incidents to a shared repository which is available to all other
Console users within the organization.

- document tracking for collaboration among Console operators

Incidents can be documented, adding dates, times, commentary, and so on,
and this document is shared among all Console operators, providing a
managed audit trail of an Incident analysis.

- improved video conferencing with remote sites.

A full frame rate video with full duplex audio using H323 video conferencing
protocols is provided to perform alarm verification functions as well as two-way
video conferencing with the remote site. Improved features include push-to-
talk controls which eliminate audio feedback and echo’s.

- advanced Rule Editor for authoring Server-based rules

Rules that control the operation of the server had previously been authored
by means of a Development Client application can now be authored by a plug-
in within the Console application.

- Control Panel with animated icons, live video icons, and more.

Additional data types have been added to the Control Panel plug-in that
permits animated icons and live video. These icons can be tied to assertions
from the server and therefore reflect real- time status of the server.

Matrix Views
A Matrix is an array of camera images. Typically, the arrays are 2x2 (4
cameras), 3x3 (9 cameras), 4x4, and so on. Each of these are referred to as a
'Configuration'. The Enterprise Console now permits a Matrix to overlay the
traditional application, showing only the camera array for monitoring the
remote site. Up to 10 Configurations can be selected for the Matrix by simply
hitting a number key on the keyboard (1,2,...9,0).
