Licensing of Products:
When you acquire a license from Savoy, you receive an eight character
product code (xxxx-xxxx) which will activate specific features of the system.
Some licenses come with a prefix indicating the three character unique ID of
a server (sss-xxxx-xxxx).
Console:
You can download the Console application and install it on as many
computers as you wish. To connect the Console to a server, however,
requires a product code for each server (sss-xxxx-xxxx). This product code
can be used on as many Consoles as you wish; however, only one of them
can be connected at a time. If you want concurrent connections to a
server, separate licenses must be obtained.
As installed, the Console can connect to one server at a time. If a second
server is connected, the first one will disconnect. In order to connect to
many servers concurrently, the Enterprise version must be activated,
requiring a product code (xxxx-xxxx).
The Console is capable of subscribing to our automated software upgrade
service (under Tools/Software Updates menu) and to activate this service
also requires a product code (xxxx-xxxx) -- no charge to customers, but
required to uniquely identify the Console.
Server:
The Server application can be installed but requires product codes to
activate most Domain managers. In addition, to run a Server for video
surveillance requires setup procedures performed by Savoy personnel.
Hardware is delivered with these procedures pre-installed.
