Matrix Views in Release 4.10.
A Matrix is an array of camera images. Typically, the arrays are 2x2 (4 cameras), 3x3 (9
cameras), 4x4, and so on. Each of these are referred to as a 'Configuration'. The Savoy
Console now permits a Matrix to overlay the traditional application, showing only the camera
array for monitoring the remote site. Up to 10 Configurations can be selected for the Matrix
by simply hitting a number key on the keyboard (1,2,...9,0).

The Matrix overlay can be viewed by hitting the function key, F1. It can be hidden by hitting
the space bar. Following the F1 key, select a Configuiration by typing a number.
Applications of the Matrix
Since the Matrix can be conveniently shown/hidden by F1/space keystrokes, the Matrix
becomes the preferred way to simply monitor live video, since it makes the most
efficient use of the display. Furthermore, by carefully designing the multiple
configurations, you can organize the cameras as you wish. For example, one
configuration could be all external cameras, another could be external doors, another
hallways, and so on. The possibilities are enormous with up to 10 unique
configurations, each ranging from 1x1 up to 8x8 cameras.
Install the Matrix Component
Close the Console application and run Savoy/VideoSetup application. Select the
'Configure...' button and set the checkbox 'Video Matrix 1'. Close the VideoSetup
application and restart the Console.
Operating the Matrix View
The Matrix can be displayed and hidden by repeatedly keying F1 and the space bar.
Do this several times to become familiar with how to display and hide the Matrix.
Following the F1 key, select a Configuration by typing a number (1,2,...).
Configuring the Matrix
Initially, the Matrix will appear as a blank screen. Right click on this screen and select
'Configure...'.
In the Configuration dialog, keep the top set of buttons set to Matrix 1. Then, for each
Configuration number, select a size (1x1, 2x2,...). Select a server from the list and then
drag and drop the camera identifiers onto the Matrix.
